TACA Awards $650,000 in 2025 Catalyst Grants to Fuel Dallas Arts Ecosystem
Grantmaking and Professional Development Programs Underscore TACA’s Commitment to High-Impact Support for Local Arts Organizations
DALLAS, TX, June 10, 2025 – TACA announced today that 50 arts organizations across Dallas County will receive a total of $650,000 in 2025 Catalyst Grants, marking a powerful continuation of its critical investment in the cultural life of North Texas. This funding supports TACA’s mission to build a dynamic, sustainable arts community by addressing organizations’ most pressing needs.
These unrestricted grants are designed to uplift high-performing, forward-thinking arts organizations that are shaping the city’s cultural identity across disciplines — music, theater, dance, visual arts and spoken word.
“In a rapidly changing world, Dallas’ arts organizations are meeting the moment with ingenuity, grit and boundless creativity,” said Maura Sheffler, Donna Wilhelm Family President and Executive Director of TACA. “Through Catalyst Grants, TACA ensures they have the resources and flexibility to lead — on their terms. Our commitment is clear: empower the institutions that make Dallas a place of inspiration, innovation and belonging.”
Unlike project-specific grants, Catalyst Grants are intentionally unrestricted, meaning recipients have the flexibility to direct funds where they’re needed most, whether to launch bold new programming, retain artistic talent, expand access or simply stabilize their foundation.
This year’s total brings TACA’s cumulative general operating investment to more than $32M since the organization’s founding, alongside the TACA New Works Fund, Pop-Up Grants and strategic arts-specific professional development programs like the Arts Accelerator and the Amplifier Workshops.
“In a city that is growing in both size and artistic ambition, these funds are essential infrastructure,” Sheffler said.
The Catalyst Grants are made possible by the extraordinary generosity of TACA’s donors, foundations, and sponsors. In 2025, longtime supporters and new champions alike helped make this $650,000 investment a reality. Their shared vision: a cultural sector that is vibrant, inclusive, and strong enough to meet the future with resilience.
TACA’s Catalyst grantees represent a diverse and dynamic cross-section of Dallas arts, from cultural anchors to nimble innovators, from legacy institutions to emerging voices.

TACA’s consistent confidence and support have also significantly impacted our steady growth and expanded reach in the community since the pandemic. We see TACA, not as a funder, but as a true partner in our important work,” says Anyika McMillan-Herod, Executive Director of Soul Rep Theatre Company.
